We spent November 15 and 16, 2025, at the Portobello West Holiday Market at the Roundhouse Community Arts & Recreation Centre in Yaletown. The market ran from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM on both days, and it stayed busy from start to finish. The space had a warm, relaxed holiday feel, filled with local makers, small food businesses, and a steady crowd moving through all day.
Right from the morning, people started stopping by our booth. Some followed the familiar smell of spices, while others said they had been told by friends to come and check us out. That steady flow never really slowed down, and it made both days feel full and exciting.
What the Weekend Felt Like
Our booth saw a lot of visitors throughout the day. People paused, chatted, asked questions, and took their time. Some stopped briefly while walking through the market. Others stayed longer and came back later with friends or family. It felt like a good mix of new faces and returning ones.

We shared samples, talked about cooking at home, and heard many personal stories about food and family. The conversations felt easy and natural, which is always one of our favourite parts of doing markets.
A Weekend of Good Conversations
There was always someone at the booth. The energy stayed friendly and relaxed, and the market never felt rushed. People shared feedback, exchanged cooking ideas, and often told us how much they enjoyed discovering something new.
By the end of both days, we felt tired in the best way. We left the Roundhouse feeling thankful for everyone who stopped by, spent time with us, or simply shared a kind word. Weekends like this remind us why we love being part of local markets — the people, the conversations, and the sense of community make it all worth it.
