Our Day at the Southlands Tsawwassen Farmers Market

We spent May 23 at the Southlands Tsawwassen Farmers Market from 10 AM to 3 PM. After doing several indoor markets over the colder months, it felt really nice to be outside again.

The market had a calm and easy feeling from the start. People walked around slowly, stopped at different booths, and enjoyed the sunny day. There was music playing, families sitting around, and lots of local businesses set up across the market.

A Different Feel from the Winter Markets

This market felt very different from Portobello, Cloverdale, and Kitsilano. Those markets were busier and more fast-paced because of the holiday season.

Southlands felt slower in a good way. People were more relaxed. Many visitors stayed longer and spent time talking with vendors instead of rushing through.

The open space also gave the whole market a fresh and welcoming feeling.

Visitors Stopping by Our Booth

Our booth stayed busy through most of the afternoon. Some people recognized us from earlier markets, which was really nice to hear. Others were visiting us for the first time.

Many people stopped because they could smell the spices from a distance. Some asked about our chai. Others wanted easy cooking ideas for sauces and spice blends.

The conversations felt very natural. Nothing felt rushed or forced.

Small Moments That Made the Day Special

One of the nicest parts of the day was seeing people come back later with a friend or family member. A few visitors stayed longer, just talking about food, home cooking, and meals they grew up with.

Those simple conversations always stay with us after the market ends.

Ending the Day Feeling Happy

By the time 3 PM arrived, the market still had the same relaxed energy it started with. We packed up, feeling tired but happy.

Southlands brought a completely different feeling compared to the earlier markets this year, and honestly, that change was really nice. We are thankful to everyone who stopped by and spent part of their Saturday with us.
