After two busy and joyful weekends at the Portobello West Holiday Market and the Cloverdale Grand Christmas Market, we spent December 14 at the Kitsilano Winter Market, held at the Kitsilano Community Centre at West 10th & Trafalgar. The market ran from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM and felt like a calmer pause in the middle of the holiday season.
Kitsilano Winter Market has a strong neighbourhood feel. It’s smaller, slower, and more relaxed. People walk through at an easy pace and take time to talk. After the energy of our previous markets, this one felt quieter, but still warm and welcoming.
A Smaller Crowd, Meaningful Visits
Throughout the morning, people stopped by our booth to say hello and learn more about what we make. Some had met us earlier at Portobello or Cloverdale, while others were discovering us for the first time. Even with fewer visitors, there was a steady flow, and the conversations felt thoughtful and unhurried.
Many people were curious about our chai and spice blends and asked how they could use them at home. Others chatted with us about quick meals, comfort food, and easy cooking during winter. A few visitors came back later after walking the market, which always feels special.
Familiar Flavors, Simple Comfort

Visitors enjoyed the warm, familiar aromas coming from our booth. Our chai and simmering sauces stood out as comforting options on a winter morning, and the spice blends sparked easy conversations about home cooking. The focus wasn’t rushed shopping — it was more about tasting, talking, and sharing ideas.
A Gentle End to Our Market Run
By the time the market wrapped up at 2:00 PM, we felt calm and grateful. Portobello gave us a strong start, Cloverdale kept the momentum going, and Kitsilano brought things to a gentle close. Each market felt different, but all three reminded us why we love being part of local markets — good food, real conversations, and a strong sense of community.
